A CYTOOchip is a 2cm
x 2cm, 170µm thick gridded coverslip
of optical grade glass covered with an organized grid of 144 micropattern
arrays.
Grid coordinates are printed on the underside of the chip and enable
the user to return to the exact same cell/micropattern over time.
Due to the limited stability of coated proteins, CYTOOchips are made to order and shelf-life is guaranteed for one month.

CYTOOchips are sold as a set of 6.
The fibronectin
micropatterns are printed on the top face of the chip. Each square grid
unit, 1.3 mm x 1.3 mm, is composed of an array of upto 144 identical micropatterns
giving thus over 20,000 micropatterns per chip. The fibronectin grid lines
are 60µm wide and cells adhere to these lines
and spread much in the same way as they do on a standard coverslip homogeneously
covered with extracellular matrix.
