The CYTOOchips Mini for Cell Normalization bear thousands of normalizing micropatterns which standardize cell shape and morphology down to their internal organization.

Standard shapes include Disc, Crossbow, H, Y and L in three sizes.

They can be purchased coated in fibronectin (fluorescent or not) or as a Ready-to-Coat surface.

Coating protocols are provided for commonly used proteins such as collagen, polylysine, laminin or Matrigel®.

CYTOOchips Mini are not compatible with CYTOOchambers.

Benefits and key features

All the benefits of adhesive micropattern technology in a smaller format to save on precious reagents and cells:
• Single cell isolation and arraying
• Normalization of cell morphology and behavior
• Improved assay reproducibility and increased sensitivity
• Powerful quantification of cell phenotype:
• Control of the location of cell compartments and protein networks
• Ideal for immunofluorescence, high resolution confocal microscopy and AFM
• Straightforward robust image analysis
• Simple chip layout

Applications

• Cell shape and actin cytoskeleton (contractility, actin
polymerization, …)
• Cell signaling events (protein translocation, signal
transduction, …)
• Cell polarity and organelle positioning
• Cell division and mitotic spindle orientation
• Endomembrane network analysis
• Stem cell differentiation

Array of normalized cells for quantitative
wide-field and confocal microscopy

HeLa cells arrayed on CYTOOchips Mini (Crossbow Medium). The
periphery of the chip offers a fully adhesive surface to allow side
by side comparison of normalized cells with their non patterned
counterparts (Image taken on a Wide-field fluorescence microscope,
10x). Click on image to see the full chip

Reference Cell™: powerful quantification of cell phenotype

From as few as 50 normalized cells, a stack
of images can be converted into a single
representative image of the cell population
phenotype: the Reference Cell.
The Reference Cell is a unique methodology
allowing comparability between reproducible and
standardized assays. Learn more here.
